Concerning the Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures, as contained in the Old and New Testament, to be the verbally inspired words and revelation of God. The Bible is inerrant, infallible, and God breathed, and it is a book we have, and to which we may refer. God's perfect revelation can be found in the King James Bible. Psalms 19:7-11; II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:16-21.
Concerning Salavation
We believe that the clear message of salvation is "repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ." Acts 20:21 We believe that men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; 1 Peter 1:18, 19)
We believe that all who have been redeemed, once saved, are kept by God's power, and are thus secure in Christ forever. (John 6:37-40, 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39;
1 Corinthians 1:4-8; 1 Peter 1:4-5; Jude 1,2)
Concerning God
We believe that there is one, and only one, true and living God, and that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, equal in every divine perfection and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. (John 4:24; Matthew 3:16-17; 1 John 5:7)
Concerning the Church
We believe that a New Testament Church is a local, visible company of believers, "Called out ones," in Jesus Christ. We believe that the members of a New Testament Church are buried with Christ in baptism, and that the church was given the ordinances of baptism, and the observance of the Lord's Supper, "Till he come." Ephesians 1:22-23;
1 Corinthians 11:26, 12:12-14; 1 Corinthians 11:2
We believe further that the baptism of believers is by immersion in water, unto the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; that baptism shows obedience to the Scriptures, symbolizing the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that believers' baptism is a prerequisite to church membership. (Matthew 3:6, 13-17, 28:19-20; Mark 1:9-11; Acts 2:41; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12)
We believe also that the Lord's Supperis a memorial of the Lord's death; the unleavened bread symbolizing His broken body, and the grape juice sybolizing His shed blood; to be done, "In remembrance of me," Luke 22:19 "For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do show the Lord's death till he come." 1Corinthians11:26 We reject as completely false that the Lord's supperhas any sacramental value. Matthew 26:25-30;
Mark 14:22-28; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
We believe in the absolute separation of church and state. Matthew 22:19-21
We believe that the church is independent and autonomous, and must be kept free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority. We believe that the local church can be associated with other Baptist churches of like faith, position and practice for fellowship and the spread of the gospel.
